Background Investigations for Employees and Volunteers

All new employees, and all volunteers who work with children and youth, should be carefully screened.  Each congregation should register with IntelliCorp , which will do a search in your state, or in the national data base, for a full background check for sexual offenders or criminal records on each individual. CPIP makes that service available to member churches at a  reduced cost of $9.95 per search, without having to pay an activation charge.  Some cities have National Single Court Fees that are not included in CPIP's cost of $9.95. 

Signing up with IntelliCorp:

1. Registration

Call IntelliCorp's Sales Department at 1-800-539-3717, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Eastern standard time.  A customer service representative will direct you to the registration page on their website www.intellicorp.net.  Enter the promotional code NONPROF1. To use the service, you will need Internet access and Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or higher.  Registration takes approximately 20 minutes, including a short 10 minute IntelliSearch training session.  Mention the Covenant Presbyterian Insurance Program for the non profit code to use.

2. Activate your account

After you have registered, IntelliCorp's Client Services Department will call and ask you a few questions to validate your account.  Once they have validated your information, they will send you an account ID and password, along with notification that they have activated your account.

As part of the activation process, you will need to submit a photocopy of one of the following documents: federal identification number (on a legal/government document), business llicense or vendor license.

3. Pick your billing/payment method

You may chose to pay by monthly invoice or credit card.  IntelliCorp submits all invoices through e-mail.
